Methodology

Our Waste Management services are seen as a partnership. We work together on improving your on- and off-site waste management in a cost effective way by identifying the best strategy for your waste streams.

We have a transparent data platform where you and your team can access your waste data at all times as well as any sustainability reporting/certificates.

Our Profit Model

WastePlan intentionally does NOT own a landfill, but processes all our clients’ waste on-site, minimising waste to landfills by over 89% in 2022. At WastePlan, our profit model rewards us for diverting waste from landfills. This helps us focus on zero-waste-to-landfill solutions.

ESG/Reporting

Investors are now demanding better ESG performance. The way you manage and report on your waste, contribute more to your ESG score than what most companies are aware of.

We know what you need in waste data reporting.

Integrated Waste Management

WastePlan acts as a partner for our clients on their journey to health, well-being, environmental sustainability and business success.

This means that your business can not only operate in a stress-free environment when it comes to your waste removal and processing, but also that you can share in the value generated by your waste. This means building a profitable business and being a positive environmental force for good in the process.

Waste Streams

Here is what happens to the waste:

  • Wet Waste/Organic Waste is separated from the Non-Recyclable or contaminated general waste.
  • Organic/Wet waste can be used for Composting.
  • General Waste is removed to a registered landfill site for disposal.
  • Organic Waste
  • Food Waste
  • Liquid Waste

All of the above is used for composting.

Recyclables are sorted per category

  • Cardboard
  • Paper
  • Plastic
  • Tetrapack
  • Glass
  • Steel

Sorted Materials are collected on site and taken to a Material Recycling Facility (MRF) where it is baled. Materials are then sold to recyclers.

Our clients receive a REBATE for all recyclable materials sold from their site.

Hazardous Waste is waste with properties that are harmful on the environment or human health

There are 4 Classes of Hazardous Waste

  1. Explosives
  2. Gases
  3. Flammable Liquids
  4. Flammable
  5. Solids/Substances

Here at WastePlan we collect and recycle some hazardous items like fluorescent tubes.

Other hazardous waste is removed to a registered hazardous waste landfill site and disposal certificates are provided.
