Waste Streams

Here is what happens to the waste:

  • Wet Waste/Organic Waste is separated from the Non-Recyclable or contaminated general waste.
  • Organic/Wet waste can be used for Composting.
  • General Waste is removed to a registered landfill site for disposal.
  • Organic Waste
  • Food Waste
  • Liquid Waste

All of the above is used for composting.

Recyclables are sorted per category

  • Cardboard
  • Paper
  • Plastic
  • Tetrapack
  • Glass
  • Steel

Sorted Materials are collected on site and taken to a Material Recycling Facility (MRF) where it is baled. Materials are then sold to recyclers.

Our clients receive a REBATE for all recyclable materials sold from their site.

Hazardous Waste is waste with properties that are harmful on the environment or human health

There are 4 Classes of Hazardous Waste

  1. Explosives
  2. Gases
  3. Flammable Liquids
  4. Flammable
  5. Solids/Substances

Here at WastePlan we collect and recycle some hazardous items like fluorescent tubes.

Other hazardous waste is removed to a registered hazardous waste landfill site and disposal certificates are provided.
