Waste Management services

Waste Removal Services for South African Businesses

At WastePlan, we offer comprehensive commercial waste removal solutions that help businesses manage their general, industrial, and hazardous waste streams with full compliance with South African waste legislation. Whether waste needs to be handled on-site or off-site, our services include trained personnel, equipment, waste sorting, collection, and responsible disposal, all managed under one trusted provider.

Not all waste can be recycled, and when disposal is necessary, it must be done legally and sustainably. That’s why we partner with a network of licensed service providers and operate our Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) to ensure that all waste, especially hazardous waste, is handled with care, traceability, and a fully auditable document trail.

By consolidating all your waste services through one provider. WastePlan simplifies your waste management process, reduces your reliance on landfills, and helps your business stay compliant with the National Waste Management Strategy while actively supporting your ESG and sustainability goals.

What you get when we manage your waste:

  • Streamlined operations with trained on-site teams

  • Compliance with waste legislation and safety standards

  • Reduced landfill costs and increased recycling rebates

  • Verified tracking and reporting to meet audit requirements

  • Aligned with your ESG and sustainability commitments

  • Healthy Ecosystem – Responsible commercial waste disposal prevents pollution and protects natural resources.

  • Conserve Resources – Effective waste segregation and recycling facility partnerships ensure valuable materials are recovered and reused.

  • Saves Energy – Diverting business waste from landfills into recycling facilities reduces the energy demand for raw material production.

  • Saves Money – Streamlined waste services lower commercial waste removal costs and optimise operational efficiency.

  • Less Landfill Usage – Reducing waste streams supports Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWL) initiatives and aligns with the National Waste Management Strategy.

  • Encourages Sustainability – A structured waste disposal approach helps businesses meet waste segregation rules and achieve long-term sustainability goals.

Waste Management Services | Waste Streams

Waste Streams

Here is what happens to the waste:

  • Wet Waste/Organic Waste is separated from the Non-Recyclable or contaminated general waste.
  • Organic/Wet waste can be used for Composting.
  • General Waste is removed to a registered landfill site for disposal.
  • Organic Waste
  • Food Waste
  • Liquid Waste

All of the above is used for composting.

Recyclables are sorted per category

  • Cardboard
  • Paper
  • Plastic
  • Tetrapack
  • Glass
  • Steel

Sorted Materials are collected on site and taken to a Material Recycling Facility (MRF) where it is baled. Materials are then sold to recyclers.

Our clients receive a REBATE for all recyclable materials sold from their site.

Hazardous Waste is waste with properties that are harmful on the environment or human health

There are 4 Classes of Hazardous Waste

  1. Explosives
  2. Gases
  3. Flammable Liquids
  4. Flammable
  5. Solids/Substances

Here at WastePlan we collect and recycle some hazardous items like fluorescent tubes.

Other hazardous waste is removed to a registered hazardous waste landfill site and disposal certificates are provided.
